Playing at home...

A random night at home...
Christian is talking more and more everyday! Not sure what he is saying, but I'm sure it's along the lines of, "Daaadaaa, maaaaammma, bye-bye, or a random high pitch scream!" The pictures below are of Alex and Christian playing...

A little update on us...

This is what we find after a nap and early morning! Since, I have got behind a little lately, I will give you some updates.
Autumn- I have accepted a Nurse Extern Position on Labor and Delivery at Floyd Memorial while I return to school to finish my RN. I will be in school full-time starting next Tuesday, May 26th! I will graduate in May 2010! So, for a year, if I'm MIA, I'm probably really just in a corner trying to study, sleep or eat! If any of you have ever attended Nursing school, you know that it becomes your whole life. It consumes you from the minute you begin until you accept that pin in the end. You live and breathe Nursing school.
Rob was around when I completed my LPN, and he knows just how hard it is. He is very VERY supportive of me returning, and for that I am so thankful. He is an awesome study partner, and sometimes I think he "gets it" better than I do. We have already purchased a bulk box of Notecards! I am a little worried about finding balance between school, studying, time for my baby boy, Rob, and my 2 part-time jobs. I know that sounds like a whole lot, and it is, but my work schedule is extremely flexible. I am only required to work 3 shifts/month at Southern Indiana Rehab (SIRH), and 24 hours per 2 weeks at Floyd. Nursing school is only a year and it has been a LIFELONG dream to complete this. I can handle a year, especially since it means that I will be able to provide a better future for my son as it will enable me to give him everything he needs in life to be successful.
Rob-He has been spending a lot of time with us around the house, and is always a big help with keeping the housework up. Even if it means loading/unloading the dishwasher! Which, to mention, he absolutely despises! He has been able to go fishing several times since we've had beautiful weather lately. It is always nice to get away from everything just for a short while and do something you love. And, I know he enjoys it! He is still working third shift. He has been working it for 6 years now, and it's starting to get old. He was promoted to a Service Manager in 2007, and we're hoping for another promotion within the next few months :)
Christian- Well, he continues to surprise us everyday. Let's see, what has he done lately that is new? He waves goodbye and Hi now. He has learned "No" and continues to shake his head back and forth and smiles. It melts my heart. When I sing pat-a-cake to him, he begins to clap his hands. He hasn't quite mastered the "roll em up" part, but I know it is only a matter of days. He is pulling up on furniture and walking aside it. He crawls so fast now! We are still struggling with getting him to eat food, but we've just kinda relaxed somewhat. He is still taking the bottle, and will eat a few new things. Today, we managed to get him to eat half a jar of sweet potatoes! We were happy! Usually he makes an awful taste and then locks his mouth! He is more impressed with holding the spoon, and would rather feed himself than for anyone else to! We have began to notice that he will pick everything up with his left hand. If he picks it up with his right, he switches it to the left almost instantly. When he reaches for things, it is with his left hand. We're thinking he is going to be a LEFTIE!! He has started to show a little bit of attitude and it is so cute. For instance, if he doesn't want the bottle, he will smack it away. He loves to get his diaper changed, but won't let you put one on him without a fight :) He has became very loving lately. He wraps his arms around our necks and opens his mouth, as if he is giving kisses away. He is so well mannered. We hope it stays that way through the toddler years and thereafter! We can only hope!

First Ice Cream Cone!

A few weeks ago, on a Sunday afternoon, Rob and I decided to take Christian out for his very first Ice Cream cone. Rob's Mom (Gigi) came along to indulge with us and witness the cutest little ice cream eater ever! I was not sure how this would go over! Expecting the worst, I packed a wet washcloth, an extra bib, a change of clothes, and extra wipes. Little did I know, all we needed was the washcloth! He was such a modest little man! These pictures are once again in backwards order, but they are FINALLY posted at least :)

We were so proud of him for holding his cone all by himself.

The above picture is what was left! He loved it obviously!

It's moments like this that makes me so happy to be a Mommy. Who knew that a trip to Zesto would end up being so much fun. I have a feeling it was one of many trips there in the years to come! (Papaw Dave bought him this bib while we were in Florida!) I think it's cute!

This was his very first taste!(Well, that is minus the ice cream Mamaw Rosie gave him in Florida while visiting! This picture should have been first...but ya know...:0

This was a random evening, it was too cute not to post! Ironically, the kid loves wearing hats!!

I need help blogging! Can you help me?

Haven't really had much time to mess with this, and when I do, it makes me angry. Questions I have...

1. How do I arrange pictures? See previous posts. Pictures are posted but the comments that go with the pictures are all messed up!

2. How do I add my "favorite blogs" where it will show the latest blog entry by each one?

I know I have more, but those are the 2 main ones that are causing me grief! :) Any help is greatly appreciated!

Girls Night...

Ok, so I've managed to let 2 weeks slip right by me...ahh! Well, lots of things to blog about, and it may be all mixed up, but I'll at least get them on here! Lets see, back on April 24, I had some girlfriends from high school over for a "Girls Night In". I invited about 15, and 9 showed up! It was fun regardless, and I can't wait to do it again! Here are a few pics...

The meal was a house salad, breadsticks, Broccoli(which we cooked and then set in the microwave to keep it warm, and eventually ended up forgeting about it!). For dessert, we were attempting to have Chocolate fondue, but it scorched and ruined it from the start, so instead, we had all the dippers! Still good, but would have been much better with chocolate! Everyone brought their favorite beverage to share... We had a mix of wines, pina colada mix, and Meghan brought her entire liquor cabinet. We weren't into much drinking, so we have plenty for next time ;)

Mickey, Whitney, Amy & Jamie. My table was so much fun to decorate!

I made this sign for the front door!

We started the night off mingling and catching up. Then dinner. After dinner we relaxed in the living room, soaking our feet in foot tubs and passed around old pictures. I had a blast reminicing. I can't really believe we graduated almost 7 years ago. It doesn't seem possible! It was interesting to learn how those of us are Moms now are dealing with Motherhood and learning everyones tricks of the trade!
Around midnight, most of us loaded up in Whitney's car and headed to Dixie Highway for some Bingo. I was a bit nervous, knowing that people at Bingo are really "avid" bingo players, and we were about to cause some ruckus! Actually, it ended up turning out that everyone was well behaved :) I think everyone enjoyed it! And, I walked away 200.00 richer! :) Can't wait for the next girls night!

Growing, Growing, Growing

Today Christian was seen for his 9 month checkup although he is only a little over 8 months. (I'm not sure why they scheduled it this early! Sorry Meghan and Andrea, I think those ladies that work the front desk are the rudest, un-friendliest human beings. And, I swear, I'm about to switch to our family doctor! They are so snotty! Anyways, the visit went great...Christian had a three hour nap prior to the appointment, so by the time we got back into the room, he was a wild child! Flipping and flopping all over the table, tearing the paper off the "bed", kicking, laughing, talking, etc! I don't know where all that excitement was about! Everytime the nurse would even glance at him, he was smiling and putting on a show of some sort! They loved him! He weighed in at 18 lbs. A 3 1/2 weight gain since the 6 month checkup. He is 28 inches long, in which that went up by 2 inches since his last visit! 75th percentile baby! He is very slender, but totally solid, and long! I asked about his eating habits and she gave us some tips and advice. I'll try the Yobaby yogurt this evening. He was a trooper after his Hep B immunization. Daddy had his crunchies in hand. He let out a very loud scream, and then Daddy comforted him. He always loves a crunchie! I wanted to take a pic while at the doctor's office but of course, I forgot the dang camera.

After his appointments, we have made it a ritual to eat lunch at Five Guys on State Street. If you haven't been there, it's the best burger in town. No joke. It's definitely worth a try. Christian slept the entire time, so Rob and I had a peaceful lunch together.

We had to go to Wal-Mart too of course. The one stop shop for everything. Rob and I enjoy browsing around though. We never manage to spend less than 150 on a single visit! I got some Yobaby Yogurt. Thanks Meghan for even telling me about it! Andrea-thanks for suggesting it. While writing this blog, Christian started throwing a fit. So, I tried the yobaby yogurt. He literally LOVED it and when he had ate the WHOLE container, he screamed for more. We settled for sweet potatoes and chicken. He wasn't having that though!

Once again, I was cancelled for work. On any given night, I'm super thrilled for that! But not when my paycheck comes! Rob laughs at me because everytime they call to cancel I get thrilled! Thank goodness he has a good job and doesn't get cancelled! Ha! Tonight is American Idol and its about to come on, so I gotta run!

Easter Day and Rob's Birthday!

Easter was spent with both sides of our families. First we went to My Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs...and then off to Rob's Mom's House. It was nice to get to see the ones that were at each. We ate great food all day, it was nice! We finally arrived home around 6pm. I guess all that good food got to us, we all 3 took a 3 1/2 hour nap! A few pics from my Grandma's...

My Aunt Cindy...She's a favorite!!

My Brother Danny and I. I don't think he knew how to tie the tie, or else, he thought he was cool leaving it like this...It was like this the entire day...LOL. Love you Brother.

Our attempt of a decent family picture! (Loving the 70's pic of my G'ma and G'pa in the background...Ha!)

My silly Cousin Meg, Christian, and I

Grandma Pat with 2 of the 9 GREAT Grandbabies! Korrina and Christian...

Ooo Mommy can we have Mashed Taters again!! No puking these up! He devoured two big spoonfuls!

This is at home right before he got his Easter basket from the Easter bunny...

I LOVE this pic! I was bringing the basket to him! He was so excited!

The Easter bunny had a special delivery for him. An Elmo book all the way from Florida! (Thanks Mamaw and Papaw!)

(Notice in this pic his left foot...He HATES to have socks on. I had just got him dressed and this was MAYBE five minutes later...already trying to weasel his foot out of it!)

Daddy you aren't getting any of my Easter Candy! Aka...Gerber snacks!

He got some new Fruit punch juice to try, Gerber Crunchies, yogurt melts, wheels, Fisher Price stacker, Elmo book, Elmo Live (Which we gave him about a month ago! Absolutely LOVES IT!!), Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs gave him some Loot for his piggy bank, and Mamaw Frances got him an easter basket filled with goodies, and also some moolah. GiGi (Rob's Mom) got him some books too! Only 8 months and made out like a champ!

Out of everything, He enjoyed the 0.39 cent grass the most...go figure! But before bed we sat down to read, "In Elmo's Easter Parade." We needless to say read it three times. He's so content and really just sits on your lap like he's a big kid. It's kinda scary how well behaved he is. I'm nervous about the next one...He/She might be a Hellion!! <--(Is that even a word? Or just some Country saying?! ha, who knows!)

After our nap, Daddy and Christian finished assembling the Entertainment Center. Check out my little Carpenter...
